At least five immigrants died this afternoon when another inflatable boat sank about 93 kilometers east of Lanzarote, with 17 more people who were able to save themselves thanks to a raft dropped from the air by the Maritime Rescue plane that located them.
In the same operation, 80 more people who were also in trouble in a second inflatable boat close to the previous one have been rescued, a Rescue spokesperson reported.
