The State Meteorological Agency has activated the red warning for torrential rains in the province of Almería and has warned of possible overflowing of riverbeds and flooding.

The Board activates the Emergency Plan for floods
The Junta de Andalucía has activated the Emergency Plan for the risk of floods, in operational phase 1, after the notice from the AEMET. In his account on the social network
In the same sense, the 112 emergency service has reported in its network “very cautious” and follow the instructions of the operatives.
According to the Emergency Plan, situation 1 is activated when flooding has occurred in localized areas, the attention of which can be ensured through the use of local means and resources assigned to the local action plans.
Its activation implies that the operational services integrated into the Local Action Plan develop the intervention measures and in this case the direction of the actions corresponds to the mayor in his respective local area.
The delegate of the Government of Spain in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández, has also spoken in this regard, urging this Sunday to stay away from the courses of the rivers, flood zones and boulevards in the Almeria regions in which the State Meteorological Agency has activated the warning.
“This morning it has risen to the maximum red level, extreme irrigation, due to rain and storm, a very important part of the province of Almería, specifically in the Almanzora Valley, Los Vélez, Nacimiento, Campo de Tabernas and Levante Almeriense. I ask for maximum caution and prudence from the population,” Fernández reported in statements sent to the media.
For this reason, he has asked to avoid travel, follow the recommendations of the authorities and stay informed by official sources such as the State Meteorological Agency, the General Directorate of Traffic or 112.
