The showers will be localized, so that nearby towns could have very different accumulations, according to AEMET, which indicates that on the southern coast of Valencia the storms could be accompanied by hail.

The yellow warning is also established in the rest of the Valencian Community due to rainfall accompanied by hail that could accumulate 20 liters per square meter in one hour and 60 l/m2 in twelve hours.

Emergencies warn: the impact can be severe due to accumulated water

The Emergency Coordination Center of the Generalitat has issued a special warning for this Sunday due to the impact that rainfall may have, if it occurs, due to the accumulated rain on the ground. Emergencies warns that, regardless of the thresholds established for each risk level, the impact of precipitation can reach its maximum severity value depending on the level of precipitation accumulated on the land and the state of sewage, among other factors.

Emergencies has updated like this the special notice issued at 10:26 p.m. this Saturdaywhile the CECOPI has agreed to restrict the movement of non-residents in the areas most affected by the flood this Sunday to guarantee safety and emergency work on a day with a rain alert.

Areas of Catalonia and Murcia, also on orange alert

Beyond the Valencian Community, different areas of Catalonia – southern pre-coastal and southern coast of Tarragona – and Murcia – Vega del Segura – are also under orange warning due to heavy rains. In Catalonia, in addition to Tarragona on orange alert, areas of Barcelona and Girona are also on alert, but at yellow level.

In yellow due to the risk of rain, points in Andalusia also appear this Sunday, specifically the Levante of Almería. There the forecast is that 25 liters per square meter will accumulate in one hour and 60 liters per square meter in twelve hours.

In this community there are also yellow warnings for storms (Almería coast) and for coastal phenomena on the Cádiz coast, the Strait, the Granada and western coast and Almería capital. East wind is expected between 50 and 61 kilometers per hour.

In Aragón, yellow level alerts will also be activated, both for rain and storms – both of low probability -, specifically in points of Teruel (Lower Aragón). The accumulated precipitation in one hour could be 20 liters per square meter.

Also areas of Castilla-La Mancha are; Hellín and Almansa, both due to rain (accumulation in one hour of 15 liters per square meter) and storms with probable hail.

The AEMET already warned yesterday that although the dana is giving its last blows, we must not let our guard down. “Very strong storms in the Mediterranean this Sunday: we activate orange warnings in areas of the Region of Murcia, Catalonia and the Valencian Community. More than 100 to 150 liters per square meter could accumulate in areas already affected by the floods on the 29th. Caution!”, he noted last night on his social network account X.
