The average price of electricity in the wholesale market will skyrocket this Sunday by 56.56%, reaching the 77.67 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) compared to 49.61 euros this Saturday. With this, it is now seven days above 45 euros per MWh, the minimum monthly average for the VAT on electricity to remain at 10%.
The 77.67 euros per MWh represent a 73.91% increase compared to the 44.66 euros on Saturday last week and an increase of 203.28% over the 24.18 euros a month ago, on September 27, when the cost was 25.61, three times smaller.
Furthermore, in an interannual comparison, this Sunday there is a 185.45% increase in pricesince on October 27 of last year the price was 27.21 euros.
