The former minister José Luis Ábalos will go to the Supreme Court in the coming days to request that he be allowed to present allegations to the reasoned exposition that the National Court has submitted, interesting his accusation in the ‘Koldo case’.
This is indicated by sources close to him, who point out that the former Minister of Transport “He is looking forward to being able to defend himself” because until now, with the continuous leaks of the case that made reference to its possible role in the management of those contracts for the purchase of masks in a pandemic, it was suffering from “absolute helplessness.”
These sources close to the minister explain that although the judge’s order contains evidence to investigate him, there are also other indications that would separate him from that supposedly relevant role that both the UCO and Anti-Corruption attribute to him.
These are the seven allegations that will be presented:
1. No news and contradictions
According to these sources, former Minister Ábalos, after reviewing the reasoned exposition of the judge of the National Court Ismael Moreno, understands that It does not contribute anything new to what the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the report of the Central Operational Unit (UCO) already collected. of the Civil Guard. They add to this that, in addition, the car falls into contradictions.
2. The report of the Court of Auditors
Furthermore, they point out that Ábalos regrets that the magistrate did not take up the opinion of the Court of Accounts, which had previously supervised the operation of purchasing masks during the pandemic and that, they say, found no illegality. Added to this is that in his reasoned statement the judge also does not include testimonies made during the Ministry’s indictment that could be illuminating for the case.
3. The warden’s chalet
They also explain that in the case of the chalet in the La Alcaidesa urbanization, which according to the investigation could be a gift to Ábalos, the judge’s order does not mention that there was a rental contract in his name. Europa Press had access to the receipts of up to two transfers worth 7,500 euros that were made from Ábalos’ account to the leasing company, Have Got Time.
4. Hiring the bride
These sources also point out that regarding the hiring by the INECO company of the girlfriend of former minister Jessica Rodríguez, the person who made this signing is Joseba García – brother of his former advisor Koldo García -, and that since it was an autonomous project for that public company, he could hire an assistant. Thus, these same sources consider thatand no bribe would be given because Ábalos did not intervene and, furthermore, they add that if he had intervened he would not have twisted the will of any official because Joseba García was not one.
5. Criticism of the judge
On the other hand, they focus on the fact that the investigator of the case indicates in his order that INECO was a company owned by Joseba García, and they point out that this error shows that the judge has not worked on his resolution.
