Irene Montero responds to Alvise after calling him “dear”: “We need policies to confront fascists like you”

An MEP began his speech in parliament this Wednesday with “Dear Irene”. The politician who thus began his turn to speak was the ultra agitator Alvise Pérez and the MEP he addressed was the former minister and Podemos politician Irene Montero, whose gesture can be seen changing when she hears Alvise’s words.

“Dear Irene, in Spain more than 100,000 infants are aborted a year,” began the MEP from Se Acabó la Fiesta, who is being investigated by the National Court for alleged illegal financing. “If you consider that more women are killed […] “We kill more women, those of us who defend life or those who legislate to free those who murder and rape them,” Alvise continued.

“Deputy, I am a deputy, no dear,” Montero replied, “take the machismo out of your face a little.” The Podemos MEP continued her intervention by defending the need to guarantee the right to housing, “and not give away the homes of Europeans to investment funds”, to help families.

The former Minister of Equality has also stated that it is necessary to guarantee decent wages, as well as public services without privatizing them. “And we need to kick out racists like you who are violating the fundamental rights of people who migrate,” he added. “We need to advance in social rights, in feminist rights and in anti-racist policies, just the opposite of what you, the fascists, represent, against whom Europe is going to win again as it has done many other times in history,” Montero concluded.
