The Ayuso Government affirms that the president pays “all” her expenses in the face of her partner’s attempts to deduct taxes from her trips

The Government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso assures that “all the expenses incurred by the president of the Community of Madrid on her personal trips are paid by her”, after the Chain Being has published that his partner, Alberto Gónzalez Amador, tried to deduct expenses from the vacations they enjoyed together in 2021. According to the station, the regional Executive reserved the authorities room at the Barajas airport for that same trip. That payment was made by the Community of Madrid and meant 290.4 euros for the public coffers.

Given the information published, the regional government has chosen to go on the attack and charge again against the central Executive. The Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, has pointed out that, unlike the President of the Government, Ayuso “does not travel in Falcón” and “does not enjoy stays in residences paid for by all taxpayers.” And she has insisted on defending that the leader of the Madrid PP pays all her expenses: “I wish everyone could say the same.”

The Prosecutor’s Office denounced González Amador last March for having defrauded the Treasury of around 350,000 euros, for two crimes of tax fraud and one of document falsification. The treasury investigation revealed that Ayuso’s partner obtained more than two million euros in profit in a mask buying and selling business during the pandemic. To camouflage these benefits and reduce tax payments, he presented false invoices to the Treasury, which he tried to justify by claiming that they corresponded to real services from his company, Maxwell Cremona, something he later recognized as false.

González Amador tried to deduct the purchase of a Rolex or the repair of his Porsche Panamera, he also tried to do the same with the rental of two vehicles during his vacation with the president of the Community of Madrid, always according to information from Cadena SER.

Among the invoices provided to the Treasury, it included the rental of a car worth 1,036.61 euros in Zagreb between August 16 and 22, 2021, and another in Crete, between August 24 and 27 of that year. The dates of collection and withdrawal of the rental of these cars coincide with the days on which the Community of Madrid reserved the authorities room at the Barajas airport. The destinations of these vacations also fit with the information published on the regional transparency portal.

Despite these revelations, García has insisted on pointing out that “the president always pays for all expenses that have nothing to do with her official activity when she travels.” And he has regretted that the invoices that González Amador contributed to the Treasury are being published in the media. He considers that “we must consider why someone who is not the interested party himself” and who is not the administration “knows private information” about a taxpayer.

Taking into account this situation, and the case opened against the State Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz, the spokesperson for the Ayuso Government has warned the Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, that “the disclosure of private data” is “ punishable by penalties of up to three years in prison and up to five years of disqualification.”
