Visiting another destination means being able to enjoy the Christmas lighting of Madrid, Barcelona or Malaga; the magic so characteristic of the London era, or the spectacular decoration of the houses of Denmark. Although, without a doubt, one of the biggest attractions are the markets.
Touring European countries we found a good list of markets that are worth knowing: the underground Valkenburg (Netherlands); the one of Mount Pilatus (Switzerland), the highest in Europe, located at more than 2,000 meters high; the one of Colmar (France), the town of Beauty and the beast…But one of the most impressive is the Ravennaschlucht flea marketlocated under a 40-meter-high viaduct.
This is the Ravennaschlucht market
This market is located in a dream location: in a black forest foreston the outskirts of Freiburg. It is a magical place that thousands of tourists visit every year to enjoy spectacular lighting. We can find it in the known Hell Valley.
To make life easier for the inhabitants of Hinterzarten and a train line and a road were built from Freiburg that connect both places. Furthermore, he rose a stone viaduct about 40 meters high to complete the railway line through which the Hell Valley train passes. Precisely in the gorge, under this construction, this peculiar Christmas market is organized every year.
Upon reaching Ravennaschlucht, an illuminated door welcomes you to this curious place. Perhaps one of the great attractions is the viaduct itself, whose lighting changes color. As for the decorationwe can find large Christmas trees and different stands to order some food and hot drinks to face the cold.
There is also a special space for typical Christmas crafts and products from this area. There are about 40 different stalls where you can buy decorations such as cuckoo clocks either nutcrackeramong others.
