And, although digital technology offers workers and companies greater opportunities, it also poses great challenges and risks in terms of health and safety, of which the aim is to raise awareness during the European Week of Safety and Health at Workwhich is celebrated between October 21 and 27.
According to the ESENER 2019 survey, prepared by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA), the vast majority of companies in the European Union have integrated digital technologies into their operations and Only 6 percent say they do not use any.
Although the use of robots, laptops, smartphones and wearable devices (smart clothing or body technology) is becoming more widespread, the potential impact of these technologies has been discussed in less than one in four workplaces in the EU. in the safety and health of workers.
A context in which the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work launches the campaign ‘Safe and healthy jobs in the digital age 2023-2025’to which the Ministry of Economy, Business and Employment of the Board of Communities of Castilla-La Manchathrough the action of the Vice-Ministry of Employment, Social Dialogue and Occupational Health and Safety.
