Mezentsev: roaming between Russia and Belarus may be canceled by the end of 2024
Work to cancel roaming between Russia and Belarus may be completed by the end of 2024. Such terms were revealed by Secretary of State of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, reports RIA Novosti.
“Now negotiations are taking place, first of all, regarding Internet content and determining those parameters that will be comfortable for users,” Mezentsev noted.
According to him, negotiations are currently underway on the issues of Internet traffic consumption by users.
In June, the presidents of Russia and Belarus Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko instructed to resolve the issue of abolishing roaming between the two countries by December 2024. As the Ambassador of the Republic in Moscow Dmitry Krutoy said, the parties are going to time the resolution of this issue to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, created in 1999.
