2024 marks a fundamental year for CUPRA with the launch of the Terramar, a sports SUV that embodies the essence of the brand, projecting it towards a new phase of growth in the electrified SUV segment.
The CUPRA Terramar not only pays homage to the famous Terramar racing circuit, from which it takes its name, but also represents a symbol of maturity for the company, always faithful to its rebellious and innovative identity.
Wayne Griffiths, CEO of CUPRA, stated that the Terramar will play a key role in the expansion of the brand, allowing it to enter a rapidly expanding market. With around 700,000 cars delivered since 2018 and over 800 CUPRA Garages open around the world, the brand is one of the most dynamic in the European automotive landscape, and Terramar represents one of the most strategic moves in this growth.
The design of the new sports SUV embrace the bold language of CUPRAwith aggressive lines and a strong presence on the road. The interior, designed for maximum comfort and driver-oriented, marries sportiness and sustainability. The enveloping sports seats, available in recycled materials such as SEAQUAL® YARN and Dinamica®, demonstrate the brand’s commitment to a more sustainable future.
Terramar is not just aesthetics: it is equipped with an advanced infotainment system with 12.9″ display and a completely redesigned HMI (Human Machine Interface), which makes the interaction between man and machine intuitive and fluid. The collaboration with Sennheiser takes the audio experience to exceptional levels thanks to a 12-speaker high-fidelity system, which transforms every journey into a sound immersion.
From an engine point of view, CUPRA offers the Terramar in five variants, with three different technologies: TSI petrol, mild hybrid and the new generation of plug-in e-HYBRID engines. The latter is particularly interesting, with powers of up to 272 HP and over 100 km of autonomy in electric mode, making the SUV versatile and also ideal for long journeys.
But the Terramar it doesn’t stop there. The exclusive “America’s Cup Limited Edition” version adds a further touch of exclusivity. Only 1,337 examples will be produced, characterized by a unique design inspired by the prestigious sailing competition. CUPRA, which has its headquarters in Barcelona, has decided to join forces with the America’s Cup to celebrate this new phase of the brand.
Produced at the Audi plant in Györ, Hungary, the CUPRA Terramar will be available for deliveries later this year, thus completing the brand’s SUV range. With this launch, CUPRA continues to strengthen its presence on the global market, focusing on design, performance and sustainability to attract new customers.
