Der Spiegel: Ukrainian authorities for the first time began to discuss territorial concessions
For the first time, the Ukrainian authorities began to seriously discuss territorial concessions to resolve conflicts. This is reported by Der Spiegel with reference to a senior Ukrainian official.
According to the publication’s source, regardless of who wins the US presidential election, Washington will slowly but surely refuse assistance to Ukraine. The official also admitted that the Ukrainian leadership had the wrong idea about victory.
“We thought that victory should be the unconditional surrender of Russia. But we can’t do without concessions,” he said, emphasizing that the deal should also be beneficial to the Russian side.
The source of the German magazine also added that there is currently a decrease in morale in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and a split in Ukrainian society.
Earlier, the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera stated that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky understands that the time has come to look for a way out of the conflict with Russia, and now agrees to a ceasefire along the current front line, but with certain conditions.
