We find ourselves in a truly particular period of this complicated and problematic 2024, made up of very important releases that should all be played without distinction. However, time is what it is, and together with personal preferences lead us to ask you the inevitable question: what will you play this weekend?
The main options, as you know, are basically three: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zerowith its spectacular fights between Z Warriors in the formula that was that of Budokai Tenkaichi; Silent Hill 2a brilliant remake of the classic survival horror from Konami; and then Metaphor: ReFantaziothe latest effort from the talented Studio Zero, the team behind the various episodes of Persona.
Of course, there is no shortage of interesting alternatives: this week we also witnessed the launch of the collection LEGO Harry Potter Collectionthe shooter Starship Troopers: Extermination, the excellent boxing game Undisputed and the Studio Ghibli style adventure called Europa.
Expected returns
As you may have read in our review of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, the new arena fighter developed by Spike Chunsoft stands as an excellent fourth chapter for the Budokai Tenkaichi serieswhich arrives after seventeen years of waiting but does not disappoint the expectations of the many fans of Akira Toriyama’s work.
Furthermore, it seems that on social media everyone is talking about nothing else and YouTube is full of videos that delve into the various aspects of this experience, including the What Ifs of the Sparking Episodes which offer alternative paths compared to the story we knowgiving life to absolutely new and exciting situations for the eight characters protagonists of the eight campaigns included in the game.
Naturally, another excellent return is the one we told you about in the review of Silent Hill 2, because despite the doubts and perplexities that accompanied the development of this remake, in the end the guys from Bloober Team have demonstrated that they have the necessary talent and skills to convincingly bring the dramatic story of James Sunderland and his Mary to the screen.
Finally, as told in the review of Metaphor: ReFantazio, the Atlus product also presents itself in some way as an excellent return if we consider the style, the artistic sector and the themes which have long characterized the Persona series, and which we find in this excellently crafted jRPG, equipped with an absolutely convincing plot and a very solid combat system.
So tell us what you have chosen: what will you play this weekend?
