Vornanen justifies his demand by the fact that a couple of weeks ago the protesters knocked over the pillars in front of the parliament. In addition, banners have been smuggled into the parliament’s plenary hall and pieces of paper have been thrown around MPs’ necks in the past.
“In my opinion, such events show that the legislation related to the security measures of the parliament, the powers of the security personnel and the control equipment used at work are not up to date. This issue needs a quick fix,” Vornanen writes in his announcement.
