Bolzano – Wild scenes from South Tyrol’s capital. On Friday afternoon (October 11th) a chase suddenly developed between six patrol cars and one VW Golf in Bolzano.

In the VW: Four men from Romania with a criminal record, as Italian media unanimously report. After breaking through a barrier at the Bozen Nord motorway exit, the police gave chase. The chase ended on the other side of the Etsch, in front of the Mitte parking garage on Mayr-Nusser-Straße.
From the police chief personally: VW passengers are banned from staying in Bolzano

It is currently unclear why the men even drove through the barrier on the A22 Brenner motorway. Upon request from IPPEN.MEDIA Bolzano city police said the case was still being clarified. More detailed information is not expected until Monday (October 14th).

What is certain is that the chaos trip caused quite a stir in the South Tyrolean capital. Six patrol cars, some from the motorway police and some from the city police, chased the black VW Golf through the town center. Apparently no one was injured in the incident.
