The IMSA SportsCar Championship has released the list of entries for next season, both for the entire 2025 North American series and for those who will take part in the Endurance Cup events.
In the annual press conference called State of Sport which takes place at Road Atlanta, where the Petit Le Mans will be held over the weekend as the final round of 2024, President John Doonan revealed the names we will see in action next year.
In total there are 48 participants for the entire season, to which are added the 12 which bring the number to 56 regarding the five endurance races, which will be inaugurated by the 24h of Daytona at the end of January, as per tradition.
In Florida we will also have 4 more seats to arrive at a starting grid of 60 cars in total between the GTP Class prototypes, the LMP2 ones, combined with the GTD PRO and GTD GT3s.

Going to analyze specifically who will be there, we start from the Regina category reserved for the LMDh and for the first time with a Hypercar in the group.
This is, as we well know, the brand new Aston Martin Valkyrie from Heart of Racing which will take to the field with the #23 to compete against the two Porsches from Penske Motorsport, the new pair of Cadillacs prepared by Wayne Taylor Racing, plus the V-Series .R of Action Express Racing, and the two BMWs of Team RLL.
The Acuras will instead be brought to the track by the returning Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian, while there will also be space for the two private Porsches which will be taken care of by JDC-Miller MotorSports and Proton Competition; we will only see the latter for the Endurance Cup stages.
Another important piece of news is the confirmation of the Lamborghini SC63 developed by Iron Lynx, also entered only in the Endurance Cup as is the case this year. The company from Satn’Agata Bolognese is going through a period of evaluations and its presence on the American market is very important, as confirmed by the name on the list, so we will have to wait for announcements on a possible break from the program in the FIA WEC, which has been talked about for some time and which would serve to focus more on the development of the Toro’s LMDh for 2026, returning to being competitive.
Lamborghini itself has taken on the commitment in the GTD PRO Class with regards to a Huracan GT3 EVO2 which appears with the #163 and without yet a reference team to take care of it only for Endurance competitions, which will be announced later.

In this category, the absence of Ferrari and Risi Competizione (which perhaps we could see again at least at Daytona) stands out for the first time in a long time.
As already confirmed for some time, Paul Miller Racing doubles its BMWs to face its rivals on equal terms, starting with the two Ford Mustangs of Multimatic Motorsports and the Corvettes of Pratt Miller Motorsports.
Porsche once again relies on AO Racing with the 911 ‘Rexy’, Vasser Sullivan is present with his own Lexus and Pfaff Motorsports continues with a McLaren.
Still remaining on the GT3 theme, there will no longer be any Acura among the PRO-AM crews in the GTD category, as the Japanese-American company has chosen to stop the presence of the now old NSX.
Vasser Sullivan continues with the second Lexus, to which are added the Corvettes of AWA and DXDT Racing, the many Ferraris of Conquest Racing, Inception Racing, DragonSpeed, Triarsi Competizione, Dragon Speed and AF Corse (the latter with a pair of 296 and the #47 for the moment not called Cetilar and present only in Endurance), and the Aston Martins of Van Der Steur Racing and Heart of Racing.
Lamborghini will be represented by Forte Racing and Wayne Taylor Racing, while the Iron Dames have not yet announced which brand they will be on track with for the Endurance stages.
Without Acura, Gradient Racing switches to Ford Mustang, Mercedes is for Korthoff Competition Motors, Lone Star Racing (Endurance only) and Winward Racing, Wright Motorsports fields a Porsche and Turner Motorsport a BMW.

Finally we move on to the LMP2 Class, as always well-stocked thanks to the presence of the two United Autosports Orecas, the only team to field more than one Oreca 07-Gibson. With them we will also find those prepared by Algarve Pro Racing, Tower Motorsports, TDS Racing, Inter Europol Competition, Era Motorsport, PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports, Riley, AO Racing, Pratt Miller Motorsports and AF Corse.
“The golden era of IMSA racing is right now, as evidenced by yet another incredibly strong and competitive entry list for the 2025 season-wide championship and Endurance Cup,” said IMSA President John Doonan.
“Our GTP category continues to grow, as we continue to see strong representation in the LMP2, GTD PRO and GTD classes. We are immensely proud of the teams who confirmed their plans so early and are grateful to all our stakeholders for continuing to provide IMSA fans with the best sportscar racing.”
