Stellantis closed the third quarter of the year with one 17.6% market share in EU29 marketsthus consolidating its position in second place in the European rankings. The Dodge and Jeep brands in particular shined, recording a significant increase in sales compared to the year 2023, but they were certainly not the only ones. The Italian-French group has in fact established itself as market leader in France, Italy and Portugal, both in September and throughout the year, thanks to its other brands.
Stellantis and sales in Europe
More specifically, in France it maintained a 30% share, while it exceeded 31% in Italy. And for this reason it is not surprising that five models of the group’s brands are present among the ten best-selling cars in both countries: in France the Peugeot 208, Peugeot 308, Peugeot 2008, Peugeot 3008 and Citroën C3 stood out, while in Italy the Fiat Panda, Lancia Ypsilon, Citroën C3, Peugeot 208 and Jeep Avenger, with the latter emerging as the best-selling SUV. As for the other markets, also in Germany Stellantis saw sales growth of more than 9%, with several brands recording double-digit increases and with market share remaining stable at around 14%. Other markets, however, such as Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Ireland, Romania and Slovenia, showed significant increases in sales.
Commercial vehicles
Commercial vehicles chapter. Stellantis Pro One ranked first in the segment with a 29% share and 1% growth in sales compared to the previous year: in individual countries, growth was particularly strong in Germany, with an increase in market share of 3 percentage points and a 25% increase in sales, but also in the Netherlands (+21%), Spain (+20%) and Portugal there were positive results.
Electric is good
And we end with electrification. While the electric market has shown signs of a slowdown as a whole, Stellantis continues to grow thanks to its wide range of BEV, PHEV and MHEV vehicles: in particular, electric vehicles have captured a 13% share in the total year in the markets EU29. More specifically, BEV volumes increased by more than 34% in France, with the Peugeot E-208 establishing itself as the best EV seller in the first nine months of the year. One has also been registered in the United Kingdom double-digit growth, supported by Vauxhall’s strong performance, while both Jeep and Peugeot increased their share of the BEV sector.
