Kühlungsborn/Warnemünde – The 73 meter long oil and chemical tanker “Annika” is burning in the Baltic Sea northeast of Kühlungsborn (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania). As the German Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecked Persons announced, all seven crew members were rescued from the ship. The radio station Ostseewelle initially reported – according to the station, there were several people injured.
According to the sea rescue service, a deep-sea rescue tug as well as other vehicles and helicopters are on their way to the tanker. The black smoke from the burning ship was visible all the way to the coast. Further details and the cause of the fire are not yet known.
