Australia awaits F1
The increasingly probable absence of Daniel Ricciardo from the grid starting point of next F1 season has not discouraged Australian fans from storming the box office at the next GP in Melbourne. Thanks to the growing interest in Formula 1 on a global level, already in the 2024 edition the race in Australia had recorded a new attendance record, with 452,055 spectators over the weekend. A figure that is destined to be exceeded next seasonwhen the capacity will be increased by a few thousand seats.
Melbourne F1, sold out
Perhaps it will be thanks to the fact that the competition is increasingly open after two years of Red Bull domination, of the historian Lewis Hamilton’s debut with Ferrariof the confirmation on the track of two young homegrown talents such as Oscar Piastri and the rookie Alpine Jack Doohan and perhaps also of the probable presence – who knows, perhaps alongside Verstappen? – New Zealander Liam Lawson. What is certain is that tickets for the next Australian GP have been snapped up, registering a full house for Saturday and Sunday in less than an houras reported by the organizers and journalists of the local SpeedCafe website.
A few hours after the opening of the virtual box offices of the Ticketmaster portal, which due to a technical problem had postponed the start of ticket sales from Tuesday to Thursday, only places remain for Thursday and Friday. And it is precisely on the first day of the weekend that the organizers of the race at Albert Park are aiming hard to beat the 2024 record, given that there will be activities on the track some local support categories such as Supercars and Porsche Carrera Cup Australia. In 2025 the GP in Melbourne will return to open the F1 World Championship on the weekend of 16 March and, as in recent seasons, it will also be accompanied by the Formula 2 and Formula 3 youth series.
