Health|The auction emperor says he wants to talk about it openly.
From television a familiar auctioneer Aki Palsanmäki has to withdraw from work for the time being, as he has been diagnosed with lung cancer. He was the first to tell about it Seiska magazine.
Palsanmäki, 54, who holds an auction in Hirvaskanka in Uurainte, says in Seiska’s interview that he found out about it last week.
“I’m only telling this publicly so that no one has to guess why I can’t work. I have always been honest in my life, so now I speak openly about this as well. But only in this interview,” says Palsanmäki in Seiska.
Palsanmäki will be operated on at Central Finland Hospital in Nova.
“It’s such a serious illness that I have to be operated urgently,” says Palsanmäki.
He admits that the surgery is scary.
“I’ve tried to think that now I just have to go with the cards I’ve been dealt. We’ll find out soon whether I’ll leave this crap game as a winner or whether the larger-than-life dealer will take the pot,” he says.
Aki Palsanmäki and his spouse Heli Palsanmäki say on Facebook that they have to cancel, among other things, their arranged brokerage gig due to illness.
According to Seiska, the illness will not affect the Finnish Auction Emperor TV show, at least for the time being, as the new episodes have already been filmed. The program has been shown on Nelose since 2013.
It has been previously reported in the public about Aki Palsanmäki’s spouse Heli Palsanmäki from uterine cancer, from which she recovered in 2022.
Nelonen and Helsingin Sanomat belong to the Sanoma Group.
