Bičkus and Toikka seem carefree, although one might imagine that the market for a unique floating home is not very huge in Finland.
However, the house in question is actually just a “game opening”, as Toikka describes it. Their actual plan is more ambitious.
According to Bičkus, the company’s goal is to realize a “village of floating houses”, which would have 10-30 floating houses suitable for year-round living and in place.
They say that they have approached several parties in Finland with their plans, but concretely the project has not yet progressed.
“The attitude of municipalities and cities has been very cautious,” says Toikka.
This is not the first time that a floating house is sold in Finland.
