Ciudad Juárez.- To avoid bad practices with cats during this month, Municipal Animal Welfare suspended feline adoptions, and urged the population to do the same: not give them away in October.
This is because some felines are used in rituals during the month of October, indicated the person in charge of that area, Alma Edith Arredondo Salinas.
He pointed out that at this time of year the death of animals is perceived, especially cats that are used for sacrifices or other risky activities.
He stated that in response to this, the Municipal Pet Rescue and Adoption Center (RAMM) suspended the adoption of cats.
He said that they currently have eight felines in the RAMM, which are protected.
He assured that adoptions will resume in November; Meanwhile it is important to take care of pets.
Likewise, Arredondo called on citizens to suspend the adoption of cats.
The official asked citizens not to give cats at this time, in addition to taking extreme precautions and taking care of their pets, since they are prone to being used in bad things.
He indicated that regardless of the color of the felines, it is important to take care of them all, not just the black ones.
The Animal Welfare area depended on the Ecology Directorate, but since this 2024-2027 administration that began last September 10, the municipal president, Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, appointed Alma Edith Arredondo as manager, for which she will soon become Address.
