RIAN: in Moscow, a foreigner explained the transfer of money to terrorists as debt repayment
Foreign citizen Mirzokhid Turapov, who was taken into custody by the decision of the Tverskoy Court of Moscow, explained the transfer of money to terrorists as “repayment of a debt.” This is reported with reference to court materials RIA Novosti.
It is alleged that Turapov transferred money to the Katiba Tawhid wal-Jihad group. (the organization is recognized as terrorist and is banned in Russia). The accused of financing terrorist activities now faces 8 to 15 years in prison.
The investigation continues to identify accomplices in the crime. It is emphasized that Turapov was imprisoned in a pre-trial detention center in the summer; the Moscow City Court recognized this court decision as legal.
Earlier, migrants who were collecting money for weapons for an Islamist terrorist organization were detained in Novosibirsk and Omsk. The attackers are natives of the Central African Republic (CAR), they communicated with a representative of Katiba Tawhid wal-Jihad.
