Ciudad Juárez.- The Illustrious Teacher ceremony took place yesterday in honor of Professor Carlos Casas Flores, an event organized by Section 42 of the National Union of Education Workers (SNTE) and headed by the municipal president, Cruz Pérez Cuéllar. This event took place in the context of the International Physical Education Teacher’s Day, celebrated on October 8, whose purpose is to recognize the career of Juárez teachers who have made significant contributions to teaching. “Honoring a teacher who gave his life to public education is something that seems fair to me and is a way to honor teachers; It is a very relevant event both in October with section 92, and in May with section eight,” said Pérez Cuéllar. The mayor commented on the importance of highlighting the legacy of those who have worked to benefit the community, especially highlighting their work in teaching. During the ceremony, a wreath was placed and a plaque was unveiled at the Monument to the Teacher, located at the intersection of Plutarco Elías Calles and Heroico Colegio Militar. “He was a very renowned teacher in this city, in the state and even in the country. He stood out with the native dances, the Rarámuri cultures and was presented at the national level,” commented Eduardo del Val, coordinator of Section 42 of the SNTE. The SNTE coordinator added that “we want to make visible the great work that teachers with a career and vocation do. “There is a need to perpetuate him on a plaque, since, apart from the 35 years he spent in the teaching profession, he continued working in dance with a group of retired teachers and contributed to the creation of the House of Culture here in the section 42”, he expressed. Del Val also recalled that Maestro Casas was born on November 3, 1944 in Ciudad Juárez and attended primary school at the “Bella Vista” school in the Central area and secondary school at night number 16. “The commitment to Quiroz is to stand out with “These events show the great work that teachers must be doing and recognize those who worked in the teaching profession in Ciudad Juárez,” he specified. Manuel Quiroz Carbajal, general secretary of Section 42 of the SNTE, reported that this recognition is aligned with the commitment of the municipal government to highlight educational work. Diana Casas Pacheco, daughter of the honored teacher, highlighted her father’s dedication to education, highlighting his career as an artistic, physical and dance education teacher. “My father dedicated his entire life to education and trained constantly throughout his career,” he said. Pedro Hidalgo, coordinator of Section 8 of the SNTE, was also present and expressed his gratitude to the family of teacher Casas. “To award the state colleagues of the SNTE, we were guests accompanying maestro Eduardo del Val, and we thanked the family of maestro Casas for his career, especially in the arts,” he commented.
