The United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs announced today, Thursday, that about 893,000 people were affected in South Sudan by severe floods, which also led to the displacement of more than 241,000 people.
“Floods continue to affect and displace people across the country,” the office said in a statement.
He added that “heavy rains and floods caused 15 main roads to become unusable, which led to restricted access” to those affected in the country.
According to the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs, about 893,000 people were affected by floods in 42 provinces.
More than 40% of those affected live in Unity and Warab states in the north of the country, according to the same source.
