Through a tweet from your official Microsoft 365 Status account, Microsoft has indicated that it has identified a possible memory management issue that is believed to be responsible for the interruption and malfunction of services associated with Outlook. “We are collecting memory dumps and logs from Outlook client telemetry data for analysis and to determine next steps”, reads the tweet on X. Although Microsoft has stated that the ongoing problems mainly affect European customers, reports of instability and access difficulties have also come from users in other regions.
In a note the company communicated: “We are investigating an issue where users in Europe may experience crashes, lack of email reception, or observe high memory usage when using the Outlook client.” Additionally, Microsoft has initiated an analysis of service telemetry, specifically network and authentication data specific to the Netherlands, to evaluate the potential impact on other Microsoft 365 services.
The interruption of services connected to Outlook occurs a few months after the serious failure that paralyzed numerous sectors across the world, from air transport to healthcare.
