At least two blue helmets were injured this Thursday in an Israeli attack against a watchtower at the headquarters of the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon (Final)in one of at least three attacks attributed to Israel against UN troops in the last 24 hours.
According to the criteria of
“This morning, two peacekeepers were injured after a Merkava tank from The Israel Defense Forces fired their weapons at an observation tower at the Finul headquarters in Naqoura (south)hitting her directly and causing her to fall,” the mission said in a statement.
Finul indicated that the injured are Indonesians and that they “remain in the hospital”, but their injuries “are not serious.”
FINUL has about 10,000 peacekeeping troops in southern Lebanonand has insistently called for a truce since the escalation between Israel and the Lebanese pro-Iran Hezbollah movement intensified on September 23.
The mission also reported that Israeli soldiers opened fire on a position Blue Helmets in Ras Naqourawhere the entrance to a bunker in which they were taking refuge was reached international troops and where several vehicles were damaged, as well as a communication system.

The Italian Minister of Defense summons the Israeli ambassador after the attack on UNIFIL
After the attack, the Italian Minister of Defense, Guido Crosettourgently summoned the Israeli ambassador to Italy this Thursday, official sources informed Efe.
“Minister Guido Crosetto urgently summoned the Israeli ambassador to Italy in relation to the events that occurred at the FINUL bases where Italian personnel work,” Defense sources explained.
The meeting between Crosetto and Ambassador Jonathan Peled “is still ongoing,” they added.
Finul has about 1,200 Italian soldiers in its ranks.
Italy and France called a meeting next week with Spain and Ireland, the other European countries that also contribute troops to this mission.
