An Israeli military technology company was the target of an attack in Gothenburg, Sweden, this Thursday (10).
According to the local press, police authorities arrested a teenager under the age of 15 who was being investigated for involvement in the case. Although the threat mobilized several patrols and a police helicopter, there were no injuries in the attack.
An investigation has been opened into “attempted murder” and “aggravated weapon crime”, police spokesman Fredrik Svedemyr said.
This was not the first attempt to commit violent crimes against the Israeli company based in Sweden. In June, police found an “explosive object” outside the Elbit Systems offices.
During the war between Israel and Hamas in the Middle East, pro-Palestinian protesters also attacked the company.
Last Tuesday, people protesting in London threw red paint on the premises of the German company Allianz due to its commercial relationship with the Israeli company Elbit. Protesters described Allianz as “investors and insurers in Israel’s largest arms company.”
Swedish intelligence has pointed to Iran as a possible culprit for the attack, but investigations are still ongoing.
