Once again a terrible accident involving a person hit and killed by a train. Today’s morning, October 10th, around 8 am, the unforeseeable happened at the Acerra train station, in the province of Naples.
As ‘Napoli Today’ reports, a man did it overwhelmed from an EAV train. At that moment, the unfortunate man was recklessly crossing platform 1 at the station in the Neapolitan area. The 118 rescuers, a team of firefighters from the Acerra detachment and the police intervened in a very short time at the site of the accident.

According to an initial reconstruction, it seems that the man was crossing the tracks to reach the opposite platform, but he had not noticed the arrival of the EAV train, which left Naples and headed for Piedimonte.
The train arriving at sustained speed does not make stops at Acerra station. For this reason, it may have been a tragic accident with the man convinced he saw a train destined to stop shortly. Everything will have to be carefully verified, also with the help of any witnesses who were able to understand what was happening in those very delicate situations.
Following the accident, the EAV company announced the opening of a commission of inquiry internal to ascertain what happened in Acerra. Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) confirmed the suspension of rail traffic on the Cassino-Naples line, which includes the Acerra stop, due to the accident. For this reason, delays, limitations and cancellations are expected.
