Organizing the study space in children’s bedrooms is not just a question of pure and simple necessity.
We are talking, in fact, about a particularly lived-in area within the room and which is essential to organize effectively for various reasons, starting from the fact that in a more functional and beautiful environment the person will feel more at ease and will be more productive.
Today we offer you some design ideas to achieve this aim. We were inspired by the proposals of NIDI, a Battistella brand, specialized in furnishings, accessories, complements, colours, fabrics and patterns for children and teenagers, all designed as elements of a customizable narrative.
The added value of designer desks in the case of a bedroom
With the start of the school year, organizing a study corner for children and teenagers becomes a priority, so as to allow them to have an intimate and personal space in which to do their homework and concentrate as best they can.
The main furnishing element of such a concept of interior design are certainly the desks for bedroomsto be created in relation to the age of the children, also considering the possibility of more people sharing the room as well as the available square footage.
All variables that design ideas such as those put forward by NIDI allow us to best manage, thanks to the possibility of obtaining tailor-made solutions.
The tables can have shaped shapes and rounded corners, with a height and characteristics in line with the child who is facing the first years of school. A valid alternative are desks that “grow” together with the child; they have a variable height as regards the work surface.
Other interesting models are the desks placed against boiserie: they are equipped and act as accessory holders. Also included in the category are the folding desks integrated into the bookcase, which thus disappears when needed: a practical space-saving option with a notable aesthetic impact. The desk can even be integrated into the bed or wardrobe, always to save space.
If the bedroom is shared or friends are often invited, the desk should be double and/or with double drawers.
The right accessories for the study space:
The starting point is the definition of the desk, the evaluation of which will have to be done in light of the aspects seen above (number of children, their age, characteristics of the space) as well as the accessories.
It is essential to opt for seats in the name of design, so as to encourage the adoption of correct postures by children and teenagers who will feel more comfortable once seated at the desk.
Equally important is the creation of chests of drawers equipped with compartments that are easy to open and spacious: this ensures a corner in which to keep (and not leave lying around) notebooks, pencil cases and other accessories for school and doing homework.
You will then need to pay attention to the lighting of the room, placing lights in strategic points, and even shelves that act as additional support surfaces, always paying attention that the height is compatible with that of the child when seated.
One last tip:
Our homes are often full of objects and furnishings. This often also applies to children’s bedrooms, which often tend to look more like closets than bedrooms.
By organizing the study space effectively, with few but good and above all carefully designed furniture, children and teenagers will be able to move around easily and be able, at least potentially, to express the best version of themselves. Even in the studio.
