Southwest Finland police doubts a 56-year-old woman who worked as a bank clerk had embezzled money from the bank’s elderly customers in Turku for years. In addition, the woman is suspected of embezzling money from an actual Finnish sports club.
The woman is suspected of embezzling a total of around 179,000 euros from elderly customers between 2014 and 2022. The woman is suspected of embezzling more than 90,000 euros from the sports club between 2012 and 2020.
The police have completed the preliminary investigation of the case and suspect the woman of two counts of aggravated embezzlement and aggravated money laundering.
