Rice and buckwheat porridges were named the most favorite among Russians
Analysts from the Pyaterochka Delivery service conducted a study on the occasion of International Porridge Day, during which they named the most favorite porridge among Russians. The relevant information was made available to Lenta.ru on Thursday, October 10.
First of all, experts found that since the beginning of this year, customers have purchased almost 14 times more cereals for cooking and ready-made porridges than during the same period last year. At the same time, rice and buckwheat became the most popular, accounting for 78 percent of all orders – 42 and 36 percent respectively.
Third place in the list was taken by millet porridge, which was purchased by eight percent of customers. At the same time, the remaining orders were distributed between semolina, peas and pearl barley.

However, when it comes to the delivery of ready-made porridges, the preferences of Russians differed. Rice porridge was the leader in this category (63 percent). The rating was supplemented by millet, Guryev and oatmeal. It is noted that oatmeal is especially popular in the North-West region: St. Petersburg, Murmansk and Kaliningrad. At the same time, ready-made porridges with home delivery in 2024 have become especially popular in Murmansk.
In September, the most favorite soups of Russians were revealed. It turned out that more than half of the total number of orders in the country (59 percent) were for borscht, solyanka and chicken noodles. Okroshka took 18th place on the list.
