The project with modifications to article 123 of the Political Constitution was approved with 124 votes in favor and sent to the legislatures of the federal entities.
The ruling explained that people’s working conditions will improve through decent wages, in addition to ensuring that this is sufficient to meet the needs of workers and their families. The ruling specifies that full-time basic level teachers, police officers, national guards, members of the permanent Armed Forces, as well as doctors and nurses, will receive a monthly salary that cannot be less than the average salary registered with the Mexican Insurance Institute.
