Mexico City.- The Superior Chamber of the Electoral Court confirmed that the Governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, favored the Citizen Movement candidate, Jorge Álvarez Máynez.
The magistrates confirmed that the state President did violate the principle of impartiality, equity and neutrality in the electoral contest with publications on his social networks in which he promoted the raffle for a Cybertruck, Tesla, truck, in which the presidential candidate appeared.
This, determined by the Specialized Chamber and confirmed by the Superior Chamber, benefited Álvarez Máynez and his party. “The contested ruling is confirmed given the unfounded and ineffective nature of the arguments put forward by the appellant (the Governor and former candidate), since the person responsible justified the existence of the infractions and the hearing ordered by the Congress of Nuevo León through a comprehensive analysis of the content disseminated on the social networks of the Governor of said federal entity that were the subject of the complaint.
“Therefore, its determination was adjusted to the constitutional and legal parameters applicable to the specific case, without directly contradicting the considerations of the sentence,” the Superior Court ruled.
