In the early morning of today, nintendo surprised us by revealing Alarmo, an alarm clock with motion sensors. Moments later, the Big N shared additional confirming that this hardware will not be compatible with the successor to the Switch, as well as many more details that will probably clarify some people’s doubts.
To begin with, Alarmo is an interactive alarm clock, which uses scenes and sounds from Nintendo series, such as Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odysseyto make the process of waking up less annoying. The only way to turn off the sounds made by the hardware is to get out of bed.
While Nintendo Switch Online users can now purchase Alarm from My Nintendo Store in the United States and Canada for $99, the rest of the world will have to wait until early 2025 to get this product.
This device uses a motion sensor, which takes into consideration our actions to snooze the alarm or turn it off. Here we can find 35 interactive scenes inspired by Super Mario OdysseyThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4, and Ring Fit Adventurewith content of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons planned for the future, which you can download by connecting Alarmo with your Nintendo account.
Among the interesting details that Nintendo has revealed, we find that Alarm produces personalized sounds and music depending on the scene chosen to wake up. It also gives us access to sleep statistics to analyze the movements that each user has during the night.. In total there are three alarm modes:
- Vigorous mode: Alarm that intensifies if the user does not get up.
- Soft mode: Alarm with constant intensity.
- Button mode: Deactivate alarm in a traditional way.
Likewise, Alarm gives us the option of “Placid Sounds”, which help us relax before going to sleep with soft music. A decorative mode with style and Nintendo characters is also available to decorate the home.
