The page of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero on SteamDB reports the presence of a mysterious package titled “Martial Arts Pack”which could be the first DLC planned for the game’s post-launch support that will introduce new playable characters.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to glean further details from SteamDB, such as price and release date, but according to the theories of some enthusiasts, the name of the DLC could suggest the arrival of characters from the very first Dragon Ball stories.
Are characters from the first Dragon Ball stories coming soon?
We specify that Bandai Namco has already confirmed that the Season Pass of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero will introduce over 20 characters spread across three DLCs currently without a release date. We already know that these will include Gamma 1, Gamma 2 and other fighters from the film Dragon Ball Super: Super Heroes and Dragon Ball Daima, the new anime that will air starting October 11th.
Considering the information extrapolated from the Steam backend, the theory is that each expansion will be thematic, therefore one for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, one for Daima and potentially a third dedicated to “Martial Arts”, the origins of Dragon Ball, with characters of the caliber of Chi-Chi, the Great Wizard Piccolo, Tambourine, grandfather Gohan, Arale and others still. Moreover, we remember that during the summer the marketing director of Bandai Namco David Edmundson had confirmed the presence in the game of “secondary” characters who rarely appeared in modern Dragon Ball video games, mentioning among other things Tao Bai Bai and some characters from the Ribbon Red. We’ll see.
In the meantime we remind you that Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is available in early access for Deluxe and Premium Edition buyers, with a global launch scheduled for Friday October 11th on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series If you haven’t read it yet, here is our review.
