Political scientist Skachko: Zelensky has nothing to present at the second “peace summit”
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has nothing to present at the second “peace summit”, which was supposed to take place in November. This is how political scientist Vladimir Skachko explained the cancellation of the conference in a conversation with the publication “Sight”.
He noted that Zelensky’s “victory plan” was criticized in the United States. In addition, Ukrainian troops did not achieve success at the front, and Russian representatives refused to take part in the summit, the political scientist recalled. “Against this background, the United States, apparently, considered its participation in the summit pointless,” Skachko said.
He also explained why US President Joe Biden canceled his trip to Germany, where a meeting with Zelensky was supposed to take place. According to him, most likely, Washington considered the best solution to postpone the solution to the Ukrainian problem until the presidential elections. At the same time, the political scientist added that the “peace summit” could take place after the election of the American president.
Earlier, adviser to the head of Zelensky’s office, Daria Zarivnaya, said that the second “peace summit” would not take place in November. She suggested that the conference would take place later. The first such meeting took place in June 2024 in Switzerland without the participation of Russian representatives.
