Image 3 it is finally available in Italy too. The AI image creation tool developed by Google has been integrated into Gemini starting today, October 9, 2024, after a period of being available they are in the United States.
To date, images are generated with one maximum resolution double that offered by ChatGPT via Dall-E, i.e. 2048 x 2048. The format is JPG with a 1:1 aspect ratio. At the moment, however, the aspect ratio is one of the major limitations of the tool: Gemini, in fact, does not yet seem capable of generating images in 16:9 or formats other than the square one.
The strong point of Imagen 3, however, is clearly its own price: To date, Google has made image generation free for all accounts, even those not subscribed to Gemini Advanced, without a maximum number of uses. A clear difference compared to the competition: ChatGPT, for example, allows basic users to ask Dall-E to generate just two images, without the possibility of requesting changes to images already generated once this threshold is exceeded.
Imagen 3, however, cannot yet generate images of people. After the problems experienced in recent months, in fact, Google still seems to want to adopt a certain caution and evidently does not trust its own algorithm too much. For this reason, Gemini will always tell you that it cannot create images of people yet and you will often find yourself having to specify that you do not want people in the image even when you ask to represent an AI or a photo taken by a photographer: in the latter case, for example, Gemini will interpret the word photographer as a request to generate a person and will not carry out the task.
In any case, the arrival of this possibility seems imminent. Are you waiting for it? And have you already tested Imagen 3? Tell us yours in the comments below.
