Big tech companies continue to invest in artificial intelligence, and Meta is no different. In fact, in these days the US company is introducing new tools for the creation of advertising content on Facebook and Instagram. Specifically the new video editing features, powered by AIwill allow advertisers to animate static images and expand video borders, creating more dynamic and engaging ads.
With the AI animation tool, you can for example upload a static image and use Meta’s artificial intelligence to generate a video. This way you can animate the background elements of an image, such as making strawberries float around a jar.
Another interesting feature allows you to expand the borders of an existing video. The AI generates new pixels in each frame, increasing the size of the video similar to how some AI image editing tools allow you to expand the background of a photo.
AI in more and more advertising
Meta is starting to roll out these features and plans to make them available to a wider audience early next year. These new tools add to existing AI capabilities for advertisers, which allow you to use text and image generation to create ads. AI-created ads will also be visible in the new full-screen video tab coming to Facebook.
Meta isn’t the only platform to offer AI-powered ad creation tools. Amazon recently released an AI tool that creates video clips from product images, while TikTok is experimenting with using AI-generated avatars in ads.
