Klopp gave up his coaching position at Liverpool FC in the summer after nine years. He had already announced before his break that he would not take on a coaching position for a year.
According to the Austrian company, the former Mainz and Dortmund Bundesliga coach will be strategically responsible for the international network of all Red Bull football clubs. These include RB Leipzig, Salzburg, the New York Red Bulls, Bragantino (Brazil) and Omiya Ardija (Japan). Red Bull has also acquired shares in the English team Leeds United. Klopp should help to further develop Red Bull’s playing philosophy and bring in his expertise and network in scouting and in the selection of coaches and talent.
Klopp had only received the Order of Merit of the state of Baden-Württemberg on Tuesday for his social commitment outside of sport and his work against racism. It was the second honor within just a week after he had already received the Federal Cross of Merit from Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
