Capcom had already announced the upcoming arrival of Resident Evil 2 Remake on iPhone, iPad and Macbut now there is one release date for this version of the survival horror, in addition to the confirmation of the presence of one free trial version which you can test before final purchase.
The game has a release date reported on the App Store for December 31, 2024: it’s a very strange date that almost seems like a placeholder, but at the moment that’s what it was reported by Capcom on the official store as an “expected” output, therefore it could actually be information that needs to be further clarified.
In any case, it is likely that the launch will still be scheduled for month of Decemberperhaps with the precise date to be defined, but in the meantime we report that this is at least the period expected by Capcom.
Direct port with touch screen controls
Resident Evil 2 Remake on iOS and Mac was announced together with Resident Evil 7, which in the meantime has already been launched on the App Store but doesn’t seem to have achieved great commercial results.
However, since it is a rather late port, it could still be a good way to further increase the users of two titles that have already largely achieved their objectives.
It is also confirmed that “a limited part of the basic game can be played for free”, as stated in the product description, i.e. a first part of the title can be tried freely and then possibly unlocking the full game with purchase.
It is a direct port of the Resident Evil 2 Remake already released on PC and console, which obviously requires rather advanced hardware to work at its best but which is optimized to also be played directly with the touch screen.
