“A great recognition, very important, which gives great prestige to this city and our region.” Thus Nicola Baiocchi, president of the Health and Social Policies Commission of the Marche Region, at Adnkronos Salute today in Ancona on the occasion of the recognition of the Marche capital as the European Capital of Brain Health, during an Extra G7 Health event organized by Ean (European Academy of Neurology), in collaboration with Sin (Italian Society of Neurology) and with the Italian Strategy for Brain Health.
“We have worked, together with the Region and the Municipality of Ancona – continues Baiocchi – to create this event of not only national, but also international and global importance, with speakers of the highest level. The Marche Region will always be close to this theme. We will work with determination and in collaboration with the Councilor for Health, Filippo Santamartini, to address and promote this issue, especially in a region like ours which is among the longest-lived in Italy, the second overall. It is a topic that we must delve deeper and analyze very carefully.”
In particular, “in the Regional Health Plan – concludes Baiocchi – we have developed data on the longevity of the population and on the pathologies connected to this great resource, which is our elderly. We must take care of them and protect them in the best possible way”.
