Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi called on Tuesday (8) for Israel not to test his country’s “will” and insisted that any Israeli retaliation for last week’s missile attack would be responded to.
“We ask Israel not to test our will. Any attack on Iran’s infrastructure will receive a stronger response. They have seen the power of our missiles,” Araqchi said at an event commemorating the anniversary of the Hamas terrorist group’s attack on Israel, which killed 1,200 people on October 7 last year.
Araqchi reiterated Tehran’s support for the Axis of Resistance, the Iran-led informal alliance between Hezbollah, Yemen’s Houthis and Hamas, among others.
“We supported the resistance in the past, we do so now and we will continue to do so, and the blows that have been inflicted cannot undermine the resolve of the resistance and Iran,” he emphasized, referring to the deaths of some of the leaders of these groups.
The event was held at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was attended by foreign ambassadors and other Iranian officials. A rally in support of the Axis of Resistance is scheduled for this afternoon in Palestine Square, in Tehran.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard attacked Israel with around 180 missiles on Tuesday last week in retaliation for the assassinations of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, an Iranian general in Beirut and Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran , in July.
Israel has assured that it will respond, while several Iranian political and military officials, in turn, have said on several occasions that they will respond with more force.
