In Moscow, a court sentenced the former head of the Main Directorate for the Arrangement of Troops, Yevgeny Gorbachev, to five and a half years in a general regime colony. This is reported by TASS.
The man was found guilty under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud”). According to investigators, the defendant and his accomplices stole 232 million rubles, which were allocated for the creation of Ministry of Defense facilities in the Arctic.
Earlier, the Timiryazevsky Court of Moscow sentenced to suspended sentences two accused of stealing 238 million rubles from the Construction Department of the Moscow Region of the Ministry of Defense, Alexei Astashkin and Nikolai Grachev.
