The oppositions have chosen not to participate in the vote of Parliament in joint session on the judge of the Constitutional Court. The decision was formalized by the assemblies of the parliamentary groups of PD of the Chamber and the Senate, gathered in Montecitorio, and by the parliamentary groups of M5S who will not collect the card. Italia Viva had already announced yesterday, with a press note, its non-participation.
Interviewed by SkyTg24, Elly Schlein confirmed that she had spoken and coordinated with the other oppositions. “Faced with a forcing by the majority, we will not participate in this forcing, we will not participate in the vote. The composition of the Constitutional Court is foreseen a strengthened majority to facilitate the identification of high profiles e the dialogue between the majority and the opposition, which has always been there – explained the secretary of the Democratic Party – We learned from the newspaper that the majority went straight ahead without involving us. There cannot be an attitude of ownership of the highest republican institutions on the part of this government, of Meloni and of the majority”. Schlein reiterated that it is “absurd” to learn the decisions of the majority “from the press, without a phone call”.
