Dubai (Etihad)
Local 60-foot sailing ships will return to sailing again, when their giant “Oud and Al-Qalami” sails rise at the beginning of the current season 2024-2025, which is organized by the Dubai International Marine Sports Club at noon next Saturday on the beaches of the Pearl of the Gulf.
The organizing committee follows up all procedures for organizing the event in coordination and consultation with the cooperating authorities from government departments and national institutions, and notifies them of the race date and the special requirements for the success of the event. The championship racing program this season includes 4 stations, including 3 rounds, the first next Saturday, the second on the 26th of this month, and the third. Next November 9, the fourth stop is the closing of the season’s races, the 34th edition of the Al Qaffal Carnival, which will be held next May.
The last appearance of the local 60-foot sailing ship races was in Dubai, during the 33rd edition of the Al Qaffal Carnival long-distance race from Sir Bu Nair Island to the shores of Dubai, which witnessed the coronation of the crew of the ship Nimran 211.
