Izvestia: in 2025, the average old-age pension in Russia will increase to 24 thousand
In 2025, the average old-age pension in Russia will increase to 24.1 thousand rubles. This is stated in the documents of the draft budget of the Social Fund (SFR), Izvestia reports.
As follows from the documents, by the end of 2025 the average pension will increase by 7.5 percent. It is noted that the expected growth is higher than the indexation of insurance pensions planned in 2025, which I plan to increase by 7.3 percent.
One of the reasons for the increase in pensions will be the resumption of indexation of payments to working senior citizens, suspended in 2016, explained Viktor Lyashok, a researcher at the INSAP center at the Institute of Applied Economic Research of the Presidential Academy. It is noted that this measure will not completely eliminate the gap between payments of unemployed and employed pensioners, but may reduce it. According to Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, the minimum additional charge will be 1.3 thousand rubles.

Pensions have already been increased for some categories of Russians
From October 1, payments have already been indexed for some categories of Russians. In particular, military pensions increased by 5.1 percent. Moreover, for each Russian from this category of citizens the final amount will be different, since rank, length of service and salary will be taken into account.
Pensions were also indexed for citizens who turned 80 in September and for those who received group 1 disability. The increase will be 8134 rubles. In addition, in 2025, these categories of Russians will receive an additional payment to their pension in the amount of 1,200 rubles.

In addition, from April 1, 2025, social pensions will increase by 14.75 percent to 15.5 thousand rubles. They are claimed by Russians who have not accumulated sufficient work experience for an insurance pension, disabled people, as well as those who have lost their breadwinner. The level of increase is related to the growth rate of the federal cost of living for retirees.
Russians have been named a way to receive a high pension
Earlier, Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, named a way to make larger payments in old age. According to her, first of all, in order to have a high pension, you need to work. The deputy advised to work hard, develop the appropriate length of service and receive the required number of pension points.
Previously, it was reported that working in the Far North and rural areas would help Russians legally increase their pensions.

In addition, the State Duma wanted to allow Russians to transfer pension points to their parents. It is assumed that Russians will be allowed to transfer no more than two pension points in one calendar year: one point to each parent or two points to a single parent. Parents’ increased points are expected to improve their pensions and standard of living.
Before this, Viktor Lyashok said that Russian pensioners have the right to an additional payment to their pension if they support disabled family members. The payment amount in 2024 is just over 2.7 thousand rubles for each dependent.
