Mexico City.– The Union Association of Aviator Pilots (ASPA) reported that it reached an agreement with Aeroméxico regarding the review of the collective bargaining contract, after achieving a salary increase of 7.5 percent.
After complex negotiations with the company, the ASPA leadership presented the Aeroméxico pilots with a draft salary and contractual review agreement that contemplates an increase of 7.5 percent directly to salary and more than 12.5 percent in other areas.
Through a statement, the organization indicated that these increases will positively impact the income of the pilots. He added that said agreement was generally approved by the majority of the pilots attending the general assembly, thereby ruling out the strike scheduled for the first minute of October 8.
“In accordance with the process and times established by the Law, in the next 10 days the agreement will be made available to the pilots for analysis and 10 more days to be consulted at the polls (votes),” ASPA said.
In this way, he said, each pilot will ratify his decision for or against the agreement through a personal, free, direct and secret vote. The organization thanked the labor and judicial authorities who have intervened in this process. “We appreciate the support of national and international sister unions that supported us in this fight, as well as the empathy and understanding of our passengers, to whom we reiterate our commitment to their safety on each flight,” he said.
