A new defendant may appear in the case of blogger Valeria Chekalina
A new defendant may appear in the criminal case of Russian blogger Valeria (also known as Lerchek) Chekalina and her ex-husband Artem Chekalin. About this TASS said law enforcement officials.
The agency’s interlocutor said that the new defendant is an IT specialist; he had access to monetary transactions for blogger marathons. “A new person involved in the case may appear from the IT segment of the Chekalins’ employees. Cooperation with him lasted for more than two years,” the authorities specified.
Earlier, information appeared that the Chekalin bloggers were handed over to the police by one of the hired employees who was not paid. The man, whose name has not been disclosed, told police about the financial manipulations of police bloggers.
Before this, it became known that blogger Valeria Chekalina confessed during the first interrogation, conducted before the court granted the petition to place her under house arrest, but then refused to confess. Lerchek confessed in the case of carrying out currency transactions to transfer money from Russia to the accounts of non-residents using forged documents.
