Izvestia: the average old-age pension in Russia will increase to 24 thousand rubles
The average old-age pension in Russia will increase to 24.1 thousand rubles in 2025. This is reported with reference to documents from the draft budget of the Social Fund (SFR). “News”.
It is stated that by the end of 2025 the average pension will increase by 7.5 percent, which is slightly higher than the indexation of insurance pensions (7.3 percent). It is noted that average pensions will grow a little faster due to the resumption of indexation of payments for working pensioners, suspended in 2016. Now they receive an insurance payment and a fixed increase to it.
According to the SFR, in mid-2024 there were 41.1 million pensioners living in Russia, of which 33.2 million were unemployed. For them, the average old-age payment is 23.4 thousand rubles, and for working senior citizens – 18.6 thousand.
Earlier, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that the Russian authorities will index payments to pensioners to the inflation rate from January 2025. The head of the department explained that we are talking about social payments to working and non-working pensioners.
